10/40 Facts:

  • About two-thirds of the world's population resides in the so-called "10/40 Window," an area which includes all of South-east Asia.
  • It is estimated that over 8,000 people groups live in this region of the world.
  • About 80% of the world's poorest live in the 10/40 Window.
  • It is home to over 80% of those with the poorest quality of life as judged by life expectancy, literacy rates, etc.
  • It is home to "close to 100% of those who are both most-poor and have least-access to Christian resources" (Wikipedia, 2015).

Current Needs

Our needs seem to update frequently, and likely far more frequently than this website--so contact us!

Keeping the above in mind, here are some things we seek to do in the near future to expand our work and to help the local people. (See also our Current Projects page for more about what we are doing.)

Some Specific Needs

  • Thai transcription - volunteers to type Thai or funds to support it for Thai out-of-print translations
  • Lao editing - volunteers or funds to edit new Lao translations for publication
  • Burmese website assistance - someone to help correct the Burmese font encoding for online Burmese materials
  • Chinese/English bilingual support - for manual correlation of Chinese translations to their English counterparts
  • Funding for a new school property in Laos where land is very expensive
  • Funds to build school buildings
  • Funds to publish a new bilingual Bible, still in progress
  • Funds to publish a new hymnal, still in progress
