せいと 【生徒 】a pupil, ｟米 ｠ a student ; 【学童 】a schoolchild (複数 -children ), ｟話 ｠ a schoolkid , 【男性 】a schoolboy , 【女性 】a schoolgirl .使い分け pupil ｟米 ｠では小学生, ｟英 ｠では小 中学生をさす. また年齢に関係なくピアノなどの個人レッスンを受けている人にも用いる .student ｟米 ｠では原則として中 高 大学生, 時に小学生にも用いる. ｟英 ｠では大学生のみに用いるが, 最近は中 高生も school student と呼ぶようになってきた. （⇨学生 , ⇨児童 ）▸ このクラスの男子 [女子 ]生徒 the boy [girl ] students in this class / the boys [girls ] in this class .▸ 全校生徒 the whole school .
