ちのう 【知能 】intelligence ; 【知力 】intellect ; 【知的能力 】the mental [intellectual ] faculties .使い分け intelligence 「理解の早さ, 賢さ 」などを意味し, 教育とは関係のない生得的能力が含意される ．intellect 「理解力, 思考力 」など教育や訓練によって養われるものをいう. 従って 「知能 」に近いのは intelligence .▸ 知能の高い子 a child of high intelligence / an intelligent child .
