GLASS-SPONGE Glass "-sponge `, n. (Zoöl.)

 

Defn: A siliceous sponge, of the genus Hyalonema, and allied genera; -- so called from their glassy fibers or spicules; -- called also vitreous sponge. See Glass-rope, and Euplectella.
