かかわらず 1 【…だけれども 】though, although (!後の方が堅い語 ) ; 〖…にもかかわらず 〗in spite of …, ｟書 ｠ despite … (!最近は in spite of より短いこの語が好まれる傾向にある ) ; 【それにもかかわらず 】｟話 ｠all [just ] the same (!文頭または文尾で ) ; ｟書 ｠nevertheless ; 【しかし 】but ; ｟やや書 ｠however .▸ 彼女は病気にもかかわらず入学試験を受けた Though [Although ] she was sick, she took the entrance exam .She took the entrance exam in spite of [despite ] her sickness .She was sick ; however [all the same, nevertheless ], she took the entrance exam . (!最後の二つは She was sick, but she took the exam all the same [nevertheless ]. のようにも用いられる ) ▸ あれほど苦労があるにもかかわらず彼はいつも陽気だ He has such trouble, but he is cheerful all the time .For [With ] all his trouble, he is cheerful all the time . （⇨けれども ）2 【関係なく 】【…に構わずに 】｟やや書 ｠regardless of …; 【…にかかわりなく 】｟やや書 ｠irrespective of ….▸ 年齢性別にかかわらず regardless of [irrespective of ] age or sex .▸ 結果のいかんにかかわらず最善を尽くせ Do your best regardless of the consequences [no matter what the consequences are ]. (!後の方が口語的 ) ▸ 晴雨にかかわらずラグビーの試合は行われる Whether it rains [╳will rain ] or not , the rugby match will take place .The rugby match will take place, rain or shine . (!慣用的な言い方 )
