まもなく 【間もなく 】soon, presently (!後の方が堅い語 ) ; 【ほどなく 】before long (!soon とほぼ同意だが, やや文語的 ) ; 【じきに 】shortly (!以上の語より短い時間を表す ) ; 【ほとんど 】nearly ; 【しばらくしたら 】in a little [a short ] while .▸ 彼は間もなく帰って来るでしょう He will come back soon [before long, shortly, in a little while, in a short while ]. （すぐ ⇨② ）▸ その本は間もなく ｟近いうちに ｠出版されます That book is f ò rthc ó ming [coming out soon ].▸ 間もなく彼はその事件を知った He soon [Soon he ] knew the incident .
