Worshiped as the remover of obstacles and patron of learning, he is usually depicted colored red, with a potbelly and one broken tusk, riding a rat. Also called Ganapati. ORIGIN from Sanskrit Gaṇeśa lord of the ganas (Shiva's attendants ).
