Ex *trorse ", a. Etym: [As if from an assumed L. extrorsus, for extroversus; extra on the outside + vertere, versum, to turn: cf. F. extrorse. ] (Bot. )

 

Defn: Facing outwards, or away from the axis of growth; -- said esp. of anthers occupying the outer side of the filament.
