あさ 【朝 】(a ) morning .解説 冠詞に関して: morning は 「気持ちのよい朝 」では a pleasant morning のように不定冠詞をつけて用いるが ，慣用的に 「朝に 」では in the morning のように定冠詞を伴ったり ，「朝から晩まで 」では from morning till night のように無冠詞で用いる ．時刻に関して: morning は通例日の出から正午までの時間をさす ．evening の始まりは日没時のほかに仕事などの終了時とされることもあり ，通例17 --18時くらいから就寝時または一般的な活動の終了する21時くらいまでをさすことが多い ．下の図は時計の12時の位置に午前0時をとり ，1日24時間の各時間帯の名称を示したものである ．前置詞に関して: 「朝に (は )」では in. 形容詞を伴った 「(ある種の )朝に 」や特定の日の 「朝に (は )」では on. ただし ，時刻を伴う場合は in も可: 5月5日の朝10時半に at 10:30 on [in ] the morning of May 5. （⇨午前 ） tomorrow, yesterday, the next (その次の ), the previous (その前の ), this, every, one, some などが前につくと副詞句となり前置詞はつかない ．▸ 朝だ ．さあ起きる時間だ It's morning .
