Sper `ma *to *go "ni *um, n. Etym: [NL. , fr. Gr. (Physiol.)
Defn: A primitive seminal cell, occuring in masses in the seminal tubules. It divides into a mass (spermosphere ) of small cells (spermoblast ), which in turn give rise to spermatozoids.
