War ner, Pop |ˈwôrnər ˈwɔrnər | (1871 –1954 ), US football coach; full name Glenn Scobey Warner. While a coach at Carlisle Indian Industrial School 1907 –14, Jim Thorpe was one of his players. He also coached football teams at Cornell University 1897 –98, and 1904 –06, the University of Pittsburgh 1915 –23, and Stanford University 1924 –32. A football league for youths is named for him.
