Defn: The seeds of flax, from which linseed oil is obtained. [Written also lintseed. ] Linseed cake, the solid mass or cake which remains when oil is expressed. -- Linseed meal, linseed cake reduced to powder. -- Linseed oil, oil obtained by pressure from flaxseed.
