EPIGYNOUS
E *pig "y *nous, a. Etym: [Pref. epi- + Gr. épigyne.] (Bot. )
Defn: Adnate to the surface of the ovary, so as to be apparently inserted upon the top of it; -- said of stamens, petals, sepals, and also of the disk.
