IMPUTABLE

a.[See Impute. ] That may be imputed or charged to a person; chargeable. Thus we say, crimes, sins, errors, trespasses are imputable to those who commit them. 1. That may be ascribed to; in a good sense.
This favor is imputable to your goodness, or to a good motive.
2. Accusable; chargeable with a fault. [Not proper. ]
3. That may be set to the account of another. It has been a question much agitated, whether Adam's sin is imputable to his posterity.
