a.[in and articulate. ] Not uttered with articulation or junction of the organs of speech; not articulate; not distinct, or with distinction of syllables. The sounds of brutes and fowls are, for the most part, inarticulate.

2. (Zoöl.) (a ) Not jointed or articulated; having no distinct body segments; as, an inarticulate worm. (b ) Without a hinge; -- said of an order (Inarticulata or Ecardines )of brachiopods.
