うつ 【打つ 討つ 】1 【打撃を与える 】hit *; strike *; knock ; beat *; punch ; slap (-pp- ), smack ; pat (-tt- ), tap (-pp- ); pound ; bang ; clap (-pp- ).使い分け strike 「打つ 」の意を表す最も意味の広い語だが, 堅い語で今はややまれ. 日常は以下の語で代用されるのが普通 .hit ねらいを定め ，力を込めて一撃を加えること ．knock こぶしや固い物で人や物を打つこと ．数度にわたって連打する場合が多い ．beat 続けざまに打つこと .punch こぶしで強打すること .slap, smack 平手でぴしゃりと打つこと ．smack は主に子供に対して用いる .pat 手のひらなどでやさしくぽんとたたくこと .tap 指先などで軽くたたくこと .pound どんどんと連打すること .bang どん (どん )と強打すること .clap 拍手するように手を打つこと .▸ 金づちでくぎを打つ hit [strike ] a nail with a hammer / use a hammer to hit [strike ] a nail / hammer in [down ] a nail .▸ 壁にくぎを打つ ｟打ち込む ｠knock [drive, hammer ] a nail into the wall .▸ 太鼓を打つ beat a drum .▸ 私は背中を棒でひどく打たれた I was hit [was struck ] hard on the back with a stick .I had my back hit [struck ] hard with a stick . (!後の方は堅い言い方 ) ｟書 ｠He avenged his father's death .打てば響く ▸ 打てば響くような答えがその学生から返ってきた I got a quick response from the student .The student answered promptly .The student gave me a snap reaction .
