くらい くらゐ （副助 ）〔名詞 「くらい （位 ）」からの転 。中世以後生じたもの 。「ぐらい 」の形でも用いる 〕体言および活用する語の連体形に付く 。① おおよその分量 程度を表す 。ほど 。ばかり 。「一キロ ―行くと駅につく 」「茶さじ一杯 ―の塩をいれる 」「プロ選手 ―の実力はある 」② ある事柄を示し ，その程度が軽いもの ，弱いものとして表す 。「酒 ―飲んだっていいよ 」「ご飯 ―たけるよ 」③ ある事柄を示し ，動作 状態の程度を表す 。「あんなことを言う ―だから ，何をするかわからない 」「辺り一面真っ暗になる ―のどしゃぶり 」④ 比較の基準を表す 。「…くらい …はない 」の形をとることが多い 。「こども ―かわいいものはない 」「君 ―勉強ができるといいのだが 」⑤ ある事柄を示し ，それがひどく悪いもの ，嫌うべきものとして表す 。「くらいなら 」の形をとることが多い 。「降参する ―なら死んだ方がましだ 」
