REMINISCENCE

n.[L. reminiscens, reminiscor, Gr. See Memory. ] 1. That faculty of the mind by which ideas formerly received into it, but forgotten, are recalled or revived in the memory.
2. Recollection; recovery of ideas that had escaped from the memory.

1. The act or power of recalling past experience; the state of being reminiscent; remembrance; memory. 2. That which is remembered, or recalled to mind; a statement or narration of remembered experience; a recollection; as, pleasing or painful reminiscences.
