(!「新しい辞書 」に重点を置いた言い方. for の省略は不可 ) ▸ 自分のは ｟に ｠スカーフを1枚買っただけです I only bought a scarf for myself .会話 ▸ 「息子さんに何を買ってあげましたか 」「時計を買ってやりました 」“What did you buy your son? ” “I bought him a watch .” (!(1 ) この場合の答えとして ╳I bought a watch for him. は不適. (2 ) watch を特に強めて A watch, I bought him. (時計をね, 買ってやったんですよ )ともいえる ) ▸ 「だれにこの靴を買ってあげたのですか 」「トムに買ってやりました 」“Who did you buy these shoes for ?” “I bought them [the shoes ] for Tom .” (!(1 ) この答えとして ╳I bought Tom them [the shoes ]. は不適. (2 ) Tom を強めて, For Tom, I bought them [the shoes ]. (トムにね, 買ってやったんですよ )ともいえる ) ③A (物 )にB (物 )を買う buy * A for B .▸ この部屋に新しいカーテンを買わなくてはならない We must buy a new curtain for this room .
