わかれる 【別れる 】〖出会ってのちに 〗leave * (!口語的 ) ; 【互いに別方向へ 】separate, ｟主に書 ｠ part ; 【別れを告げる 】say * good-by ｟to ｠; 〖離婚する 〗divorce, leave, ｟話 ｠ break * [split *] up (!「恋人同士が別れる 」の意にも用いる. その場合には break away from her boyfriend のようにもいう ) ; 【別居する 】separate .▸ 私は彼と駅で別れた He and I left each other [parted ] at the station . (!╳part each other とはいわない ) I left [parted from ] him at the station .▸ 私たちは仲よく別れた We parted (as ) friends .▸ 妻は突然 「あなたと別れます 」と言った My wife said, out of the blue, “I' m leaving you .”▸ その夫婦は結局別れた The couple have divorced [split up, separated ] after all .
