ついて 前置詞 1 【関して 】about …; on …; of …; over …; concerning …; as to …; as for ….使い分け about 最も一般的な語 .on 内容が専門的で高度な場合に用いる: 日本についての本 a book about [on ] Japan. (!about では一般的内容, on では専門的内容を暗示 ) / 社会福祉についての論文 a paper on [╳about ] social welfare. (!論文は専門的なので通例 on を用いる ) of about としばしば交換できるが, about が詳しくふれるのに対し, of は (全般的に )軽くふれる場合に用いられる. たとえば think about it では 「そのことについて長くいろいろと考える 」ことが, think of it では 「ちょっと思い浮かべる 」ことが含意される .over 「…をめぐって 」の意で, しばしば意見の対立 不一致を含意する .concerning about, on の堅い語で限定的なことに用いる .as to ｟主に英 やや書 ｠で wh-節が続く場合に好まれるがそれ以外では about, on が普通 .as for すでに出た話題に関連して別のことを述べる場合に用いる. 通例次の文または節の初めに置かれる (as to にもこの用法がある ). 時に軽蔑や無関心を含意する .▸ その事故について話をする talk about [of ] the accident .▸ 税制改革について意見を述べる express an opinion about [on, concerning , ｟書 ｠ with regard to ] tax reform .▸ この件について質問はありませんか Do you have any questions about this matter? ▸ それについてはすべて知ってるよ I know all about it .▸ それについてどう思いますか What [╳How ] do you think of [about ] that? 【それについてご意見はどうですか 】What is your opinion of that? / What do you say to that?
