Is a bel la I (1451 –1504 ), queen of Castile 1474 –1504 and of Aragon 1479 –1504. Her marriage in 1469 to Ferdinand of Aragon marked the beginning of the unification of Spain. They instituted the Spanish Inquisition in 1478 and supported the explorations of Christopher Columbus in 1492.

Is a bel la of France (1292 –1358 ), daughter of Philip IV of France and wife of Edward II of England 1308 –27. She left England to return to France in 1325, where she and her lover, Roger de Mortimer, organized an invasion of England in 1326.
