CONCORDANCE
n.[L., to agree. See Concord. ] 1. Agreement. In this sense, accordance is generally used.
2. In grammar, concord. [Not used. ]
3. A dictionary in which the principal words used in the scriptures are arranged alphabetically, and the book, chapter and verse in which each word occurs are noted; designed to assist an inquirer in finding any passage of scripture, by means of any leading word in a verse which he can recollect.

3. An alphabetical verbal index showing the places in the text of a book where each principal word may be found, with its immediate context in each place. His knowledge of the Bible was such, that he might have been called a living concordance. Macaulay.
4. A topical index or orderly analysis of the contents of a book.
