SITTING

ppr. 1. Resting on the buttocks, or on the feet, as fowls; incubating; brooding; being in the actual exercise of authority, or being assembled for that purpose.
2. a. In botany, sessile.

Sit ting Bull |sɪtɪŋˈbʊl | ( c. 1831 –90 ), Sioux chief; Sioux name Tatanka Iyotake. He led the Sioux in the fight to retain their lands; this resulted in the massacre of Lt. Col. Custer and his men at Little Bighorn. He was killed by reservation police during the Ghost Dance turmoil.
